I think you have a good point. The problem is that if you make the movie you were envisioning it bothers the upper classes and they will attack it as class warfare. You sound unhappy because this movie is not a documentary. I watched this during the pandemic, and at the same time the movie "Land". Both were not perfect, but they were OK.

I felt asleep watching it. It was pretty cool seeing baby boomers in poverty. The generation could have easily gotten rich working the deep fryer. But now rent is due.

The movie really reflects the spirit of Norse folklore, and the details of daily life are almost correct, but there are many historical blunders in it (assuming that the action happens in 8th or 9th century).

isn't the premise of the film basically entrapment? doesn't that prevent convictions? The idea being that if law enforcement encourage or facilitate the starting of crimes it makes people who might otherwise learn to live with their ill thoughts into actual criminals. At worst it means the state is basically farming crime to justify their salaries.

"Ummmm excuse me sir that is struggling to afford groceries, did you pay $15 for a ticket to see a movie ticket to see a documentary on homelessness". Are you that tone def? The idea of them being criminals and then having a normal happy ever after reminds me of Natural Born Killers.

As an Italian I couldn’t understand most of the cities’ names and even Salò sounded so weird until you mention Mussolini and my brain switched back on

It was a really fun concept that was made way too cartoonish for a broad-audience. I had fun watching it, but the ending felt very rushed. The writers saying "We need to have a big climax" leads to the characters acting so... out-of-character, and it broke my immersion completely. If nothing else, it's a great showcase for Linklater's acting ability. Sort of like how "The Saint" from 1997 wasn't a masterpiece, but it's fun seeing Val Kilmer chew the scenery as a bunch of different characters.

A surprise hit for me. Didn't think this would be up my ally, but I thoroughly enjoyed this film. One of the best rom-coms I've seen in quite some time, if not ever.

When I first saw the trailer, I thought I'd never watch it. It looked like one of those dumb action rom-coms. But after this video(and seeing Glen Powell acting as Patrick bateman) I'm definitely watching it. Kino, you done it again!
